Born and raised in Koreatown Los Angeles, Gerber’s interest for film and television began at young age. Strongly influenced by his older siblings’ passion for I Love Lucy and LA based films such as Boyz N’ the Hood, Swingers, and Reservoir Dogs, just to name a few, his creative storytelling abilities were taking shape.
His skill to produce and form story-arcs in both English and Spanish does not limit him from any specific genre, network, format or style. His efficiency and speed in Avid Media Composer and Adobe Premiere have been on display when working live events such as 2018 FIFA WORLD CUP, LA VOZ KIDS (the Voice) and Bailando por un Sueño. Many show-runners have also depended on his abilities to rework existing episode and meet network notes and deadline. In addition, Gerber’s strong knowledge and background in sports has also made him indispensable too many post production teams.
In 2005, Gerber transferred from Cal State LA to The Los Angeles Film School and graduated with a double major in Motion Picture Editing and Sound Design. He became a full-time creative Producer/Editor 12 years ago at the age of 21 and is comfortable working on all platforms, remotely and on location.
